Summer is just around the corner, and perhaps you are thinking about booking a fun, relaxing vacation. But perhaps you are working on sobriety or moderation and are worried about maintaining it in a resort environment where alcohol is abundant. There are options for alcohol-free resorts and alcohol-free vacations.

In recent years the sober curious movement has gained popularity as people strive for health and wellness. If you need additional support to meet your goals during a vacation, Ria Health offers telehealth support and coaching, making it easy to continue a recovery program while traveling.

Expedia reports that 40% of travelers are likely to plan an alcohol-free vacation (also known as “dry tripping”) in the coming year. Instead of boozy vacations complete with hangovers and “wasted” days, many are opting for healthy recreation and exploring beautiful locales.

We hear a lot about all-inclusive packages that furnish unlimited alcohol among the other amenities, but “dry” vacation options still seem to be a well-kept secret. The good news is they are possible and we are happy to share some with you.

We’ve compiled a list of 11 all-inclusive resorts that cater to sobriety-seeking guests, some providing unlimited non-alcoholic drinks along with a full range of exciting activities.

Alcohol-Free Resorts

While it may be difficult to find completely alcohol-free resorts, many resorts offer sober vacation options. They are ideal locations that focus on recreation, relaxation, wellness, and adventure where you won’t be expected to purchase or indulge in alcoholic beverages.

1. Lapa Rios Resort, Costa Rica

Here you can enjoy an alcohol-free vacation in a breathtaking setting. Experience the beauty of nature by trekking through the rainforest and visiting wildlife parks.

These activities are part of the all-inclusive package. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are included. In addition, you can spend time at the outdoor pool, or enjoy the wonders of snorkeling. Amenities also include a spa.

2. Hotel Xcaret Arte, Mexico

This exquisite adults-only resort boasts 15 pools, 10 restaurants, an art gallery, a gym, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking trails, and more. All of the bars accommodate a range of non-alcoholic drinks.

The bartenders enjoy crafting all cocktails into non-alcoholic versions, ensuring personalized attention to your preferences.

    3. El Dorado Seaside Suites, Mexico

Guests stay in rustic beachfront villas with modern conveniences. Activities include hiking, biking, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing.

        5. Royal Davui Island Resort, Fiji

This small intimate adults-only resort houses a maximum of 32 guests. Beverages, including alcoholic beverages, are not covered in the all-inclusive plan so you can limit temptation more easily.
