Ben Gardner is a certified Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from University of San Francisco. He is licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in three states, with over a decade of experience in critical care and diagnostics. He is currently a member of the Ria Health medical team.
Ben is experienced in a wide spectrum of health care practices, from end-of-life care and case management, to health-related business consulting. He has worked in environments ranging from emergency rooms and trauma centers, to primary outpatient care and home care settings. This, and his experience working with underserved communities in Olympia, WA, has led him to place a high value on good patient communication.
In addition to his nursing credentials, Ben holds an MBA in Finance and International Management from the University of San Francisco. In his thesis work for his DNP, Ben investigated nursing consulting within the larger healthcare industry, and later spent five years working with small business entrepreneurs and healthcare clients in strategic planning and investment. He has published research on nurse retention and healthcare management.
Ben brings his extensive real-world nursing experience, communication skills, and knowledge of healthcare management to his work with Ria Health and its members.
