About Brenda Lewis

Brenda Lewis is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC II) with an extensive background in community-based services and nonprofits. She has over six years of counseling experience, and joined Ria Health as a recovery coach in 2020.

After earning her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University, Brenda began her career as a paralegal at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. There, she gained a deep compassion for survivors of domestic violence, rape, and substance abuse.

She soon moved on to the nonprofit world. For six years, she worked for SKIP of New York, providing services for disabled children and their families. She continued with similar work at CenterLight, supporting the elderly to stay in their homes and remain connected to their communities.

Because of a desire to give a voice to those struggling with addiction, Brenda began counseling professionally in 2014. After getting her start at New Serenity Inc., she moved on to Atlanta Metro Treatment Center, where she worked between two clinics in the Georgia area for 6 years.

Brenda is committed to fighting addiction from a holistic and harm reduction standpoint. She believes planting a seed of hope can be the deciding factor on the road to a successful recovery. She brings her dedication and strong sense of compassion to her work with Ria Health’s members.
