Maricela Ramos is trained in recovery-focused mental healthcare, and has a background in sociology. She is an experienced personal services coordinator in recovery support programs, and is currently completing her Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling Certificate at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Maricela is trained in motivational interviewing and active listening. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, and has experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds. She has a deep commitment to meeting clients where they are, and helping them find new strategies to improve their relationship with alcohol.
This commitment extends to clients’ overall mental health: During her three years with Telecare Corp in Los Angeles, Maricela helped develop a pilot program to treat co-occurring disorders, which included working with homeless or at-risk individuals struggling with mental illness. Maricela cares about the connection between substance abuse and other mental health issues. As a coach, she looks at the whole individual, and helps members work towards their best self.
